CC Geotechnical Limited achieves audit-ready ISO management system with support from Knowsley Council’s Business Growth Programme

Established in 1990, Kirkby based CC Geotechnical Limited is a respected specialist consultancy providing comprehensive services across the geotechnical, geo-environmental and materials technology sectors. Led by a highly qualified team of engineers, scientists and technicians, the company delivers site-specific desk studies, field and laboratory investigations, alongside detailed interpretative reporting and expert advice.

As a well-established and trusted business within its sector, CC Geotechnical Limited was increasingly being asked to demonstrate additional quality accreditations when submitting tenders, particularly ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. Although many of the required systems and processes were already in place, the company recognised that specialist support was needed to help prepare for formal certification audits.

Following a meeting with Steve from Knowsley Council’s Business Growth team, CC Geotechnical Limited was offered two days of specialist Quality Systems support through the Business Growth Programme. Delivered by expert consultant Alex Maw and fully funded through the Shared Prosperity Fund, the support was designed to help the business strengthen its management systems and prepare for accreditation.

Working closely with the team, Alex provided guidance and practical assistance in developing an integrated ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 company management system. The tailored support helped CC Geotechnical streamline its processes, ensure compliance with key standards and build a robust framework ready for independent assessment.

The impact of the support was significant. CC Geotechnical successfully launched its new integrated management system and passed its Stage 1 independent audit, marking a major milestone on its accreditation journey. The business has recently passed the stage 2 audits and has now added ISO14001 and ISO45001 to its company accreditations, enhancing its competitiveness and strengthening its ability to secure future contracts and tender opportunities.
