Established in June 2019, Chameleon Plumbing and Heating provides plumbing, heating and gas services to both domestic and commercial customers across the region.

As the business continued to grow, the management team took the decision to bring Health and Safety management in-house rather than rely on external providers. To support this transition and ensure all documentation remained compliant with current legislation, the company accessed two days of specialist Health and Safety consultancy through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) Business Support Programme, delivered by Knowsley Council’s Business Growth team.

The support was provided to help the business review and strengthen its Health and Safety processes, ensuring that all relevant policies, risk assessments, method statements and supporting documentation met legal compliance requirements. The consultancy also helped the business develop a clearer understanding of its Health and Safety responsibilities and establish robust procedures for managing risks effectively.

As a result of the support, Chameleon Plumbing and Heating now has a comprehensive and compliant suite of Health and Safety documentation that is accurately maintained, clearly organised and readily accessible to staff when required. The business has also improved internal awareness and understanding of Health and Safety responsibilities, reducing compliance risks and providing greater confidence when working with customers and contractors.
