Liverpool FC training ground
Liverpool Football Club completed work on their new state-of-the-art Training Complex in Kirkby in November 2020. Representing an investment of £50 million the Club brought its Academy and first team training facilities together for the first time in the club’s history – and they chose Knowsley for that investment.
The new 9,200sqm training complex provides an elite performance centre for the first team and a state-of-the-art training area for the club’s development squads, alongside new pitches, two gyms, a full-size sports hall, pool, hydrotherapy complex and specialist sports rehabilitation suites. There are also dedicated TV studios, press conference facilities and office accommodation.
As part of the project the Club also redeveloped the adjacent Eddie McArdle playing fields to provide improved facilities for the local community including five new community football pitches, changing rooms, pedestrian, dog walking and cycle paths, car parking and enhanced landscaping and tree planting.
Knowsley is now home to the first team training operations of both Liverpool and Everton football clubs.
