Black History Month (BHM) is an annual celebration of the history, heritage, and culture of people of African and Caribbean descent. It takes place in October each year and is a time to recognise and honour the achievements and contributions of Black people to the UK.

This year’s theme: ‘Reclaiming Narratives’ underscores a commitment to correcting historical inaccuracies, while challenging the narratives that have often overlooked the contributions and achievements of Black individuals both in the UK and globally.

To mark Black History Month, Knowsley Council’s Black and Minority Workers Group will team up with the Invest Knowsley Business Growth Team, to host an entrepreneurship event on the 29 October 2024 at Huyton Library. Everyone is welcome to attend.

In partnership with the LCR Business & IP Centre, the event will commence with an opening address by Cllr Graham Morgan, the Leader of Knowsley Council. Delegates will then hear speeches from Knowsley based Black and Minority Ethnic Entrepreneurs, including a Keynote speaker on Entrepreneurship and Innovation.

The evening will feature a marketplace showcasing a variety of local Black led businesses.

Delegates will also be treated to Soul food from Bettylicious Cooks before a performance from musician Tayo Aluko brings the evening to a close.

Book your place on Eventbrite.
